The website is created for any Sembratovych descendants to find out about their origin, their ancestors and what kind of outstanding people they were.

The Sembratovych heritage began in the village Vysova, within the Lemko region. One of the forefathers was coming crown (beneficyum) in Vysova at the foot of Beskid in time of Sehyzmund i, 1544r. (Biesiada literacka, warsaw №34, aug 1898, pp. 122).

The oldest mention of Vysova dates back to 1585.

The solecwo of Vysova was led by soltys and after his death in 1647, the duties were passed onto his 7 sons.

Due to this the land, which belonged to the seven brothers was named "Sembratovychivka" and its' owners, who were pastors in Vysova - were named "Sembratovych".

This is where the famous line of the Sembratovich family began including:
Cardinal Sylvester, Metropolitan Joseph, many priests, the journalist – Roman, the general-major Alexander Ludwig, major Roman, etc.

In 1756, the priest Roman Sembratovych received the sembratovytske solectwo where the lands were known for it's mineral springs.

In 1801, Jacob Sembratovych (Jakub Sembratowicz) became the Vysova priest.

In the original language:
Назва Сембратовичів має після одної гадки походити від 7 синів висівского солтиса, яких грунт (солтиство) в Висові прозвано "Сембратовичівка", а після другої гадки звідси, що через Німців з Чех прогнані, а на Лемковщині осілі Словяни, духовні сини і спадкоємці обряду св. Методія, звали себе братьми того обряду: "Я сем брат старословянскаго обряда". Звідси пішла і їх назва "Сембратовичі".
Метрики пров. від 1784р.

At present, Vysova (Wysowa-Zdroj) is a resort destination with it's well know healing water springs. A number of newly built health centers and an increased development in agrotourism made Vysova a famous resort destination.

At the moment there are no remaining Sembratovych in Vysova. It seems that the Sembratovych family, in particular the priests, left to different villages of the Lemko region while the land owner brother remained in Vysova.

The Sembratovych name travelled through Talerhof and Siberia; dispersed around the world and settled in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, UK, Germany, Australia, Czech republic, Slovakia, Russia and the USA.
